Wicked: Release Date, Cast & Everything We Know

An adaptation of the Broadway musical Wicked is coming to theaters and there have been a lot of Wicked movie updates announced about the cast, release date, and much more. The Wicked musical is an adaptation of the book series The Wicked Years by Gregory Maguire that was itself a revisionist take on The Wizard of Oz books by L. Frank Baum and the 1939 movie adaptation. The film version of Wicked is a few degrees of separation from the original text. The Wicked Years is divided into four novels while the Broadway musical adapts the first, Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West.
