YOU WON’T BELIEVE THIS!! Mr Eazi Reveals How He Got His Favorite Word, ‘Zagadat’

Nigerian singer and entrepreneur, Mr Eazi give insights into how he created the ‘Zagadat’ catchphrase which was inspired by legendary singer, 2BABA and Jamaican dancehall star, Beenie Man.

He revealed that his catchphrase “Zagadat” was influenced by lyrics from 2Face’s ‘Nfana Ibaga’ remix featuring Beenie Man.

During an interview with Capital Xtra, UK, Mr Eazi clarified that he couldn’t face copyright issues with the slang because he didn’t utter it in the same manner as it was presented in the song.

In his words;

“Big shout out to Beenie Man. Beenie Man and 2Face. I got my catchphrase ‘Zagadat’ from their song ‘Nfana Ibaga’ remix. From the part, ‘And the Lord say let there be light. Zagazaga za.’ That’s where it’s from, bro.

“I don’t have to give them royalties because I said, ‘Zagadat.’ I didn’t say, Zagagaza za.”
