Who Were Los Pepes? The Narcos Paramilitary Group Explained

Throughout season 2 of Netflix’s Narcos, several organizations are fully committed to taking down the notorious drug lord and narcoterrorist, Pablo Escobar (Wagner Moura), one of them being a group called Los Pepes. Based on real-life events, the first two seasons of Narcos tell the true story of Escobar and how his rise to power and wealth allowed him to become one of Colombia’s most powerful and feared drug kingpins. The crime drama also follows two DEA agents named Steve Murphy (Boyd Holbrook) and Javier Peña (Pedro Pascal) who are tasked with bringing down Escobar and ending his reign of terror in the country.
