Where Was Smallville Filmed: DC Filming Locations Explained

The picturesque depiction of Superman’s hometown in Smallville is part of what forms the pre-DCU series’ lasting legacy more than a decade since it concluded – and part of that can be explained by the locations in which it was filmed. Clark Kent’s coming-of-age story is inextricably linked to his rural upbringing on Kent Farm and the values he learned from the family and friends who took him in after landing on Earth as the presumed last Kryptonian. As such, the locations for Smallville had to suit these undertones of life in Middle America – and Vancouver, Canada and its surrounding areas just so happened to fit the bill perfectly.
