What Year The Godfather 4 Would Be Set In (If It Continued Vincent Corleone’s Story)

Paramount was originally developing The Godfather 4 following the success of The Godfather Part III, and it could still work, but the movie has a time-setting issue that it needs to overcome. 1972’s The Godfather is a masterful period movie based mostly 27 years earlier in 1945. 1974’s The Godfather Part II was even more ambitious, and while it’s partly set in 1958, half of the movie is set in the 1910s as it follows Vito Corleone setting up his empire in New York. The sequel even ends on a flashback to 1941, and there are even scenes that take place in 1901 when Vito first migrates to New York.
