Update on Third Mainland Bridge Repairs: Alternative Routes During Construction
The Lagos State Government has declared that the third mainland bridge will undergo rehabilitation starting on Tuesday, January 9. However, the duration of the closure has not been specified.
Repair initiatives commenced on the bridge in November 2023 following an inspection by the Minister of Works, David Umahi.
Umahi had indicated that the rehabilitation would be completed within three months, with the anticipated conclusion in January 2024.
In a statement announcing the resumption of construction work on the bridge, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, stated:
“The closure is part of the ongoing work that started in November 2023, focusing on fixing the ramps, and now, the remaining parts of the bridge will also be repaired.”
