Upcoming Alien TV Show Is Doing Something The Franchise Has Avoided For 44 Years

The Alien TV series is taking a chance by breaking an unofficial rule the franchise has held onto for decades. Ridley Scott’s original Alien set up many questions it had no interest in answering, including where the alien eggs came from or why the derelict ship was transporting them. The original film and its eventual sequel Aliens suggested a much wider universe of tales, which has led to almost countless video games, novels and comic expansions. They also led, of course, to the rest of the Alien movie franchise.
