Truck Explodes At Nigeria/Benin Border Area While Discharging Diesel
A tanker carrying 25,000 liters of diesel exploded in Seme, a border area between Nigeria and Benin Republic, causing panic in nearby communities from both sides of the border.
The explosion happened while the tanker was unloading its contents into a reservoir. Witnesses reported that the blast sent people scrambling for safety, but firemen from Badagry swiftly arrived with two fire engines, managing to extinguish the fire.
The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson, Mrs. Ololade Agboola, confirmed the explosion, emphasizing that the timely arrival of the firemen prevented further damage.
Fortunately, there were no casualties reported during or after the incident.
