Three Robbers Shot Dead In Akwa Ibom (DETAILS)

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has reported the neutralization of three armed robbers during an operation in the Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area, with one suspect captured.

According to CSP Odiko MacDon, the Police Public Relations Officer, the robbers were intercepted while attempting to rob the National Museum in Ikot Inyang Village.

In response to a distress call, a crack team from the Ikot Ekpene Division engaged the armed robbers, who numbered about ten, resulting in the neutralization of three suspects in a gun duel.

Recovered items from the scene include a locally made pistol, one expended cartridge, one live cartridge, and vandalized wire cables, among others.

MacDon stated,

“In compliance with the Commissioner of Police’s directive, a crack team of Ikot Ekpene Division responded to a distress call, engaged armed robbers, numbering about ten, who were robbing at NDDC Hall/National Museum, Ikot Inyang Village and environs. In the ensuing gun duel, three of the suspects were neutralized while one was arrested and others escaped with bullet wounds.”
