Netflix’s The Fall of the House of Usher follows a reprehensible family laced with greed and corruption, but it made one change from the source material to avoid making the family even worse. Adapted from Edgar Allan Poe’s seminal 1839 gothic horror short story of the same name, The Fall of the House of Usher revolves around the crooked CEO of a pharmaceutical company, who reckons with the mistakes of his past when his children start dying in mysterious and inexplicable ways. The miniseries is helmed by Gerald’s Game director Mike Flanagan.
