The Genius Man Of Steel Scene That Set Up The DCEU’s Martian Manhunter Retcon

One improvisational choice in 2013’s Man of Steel led to the eventual introduction of DC Comics’ Martian Manhunter into the DCEU. While David Corenswet will assume the role of Clark Kent, a.k.a. Superman, in 2025’s Superman: Legacy as part of the rebooted DC Universe, Henry Cavill debuted as the legendary superhero in Man of Steel, the DCEU’s first project. Man of Steel began to pave the way for Zack Snyder’s overarching vision for the DCEU, and though he would never get the chance to complete this narrative, Snyder did see an unplanned story come to fruition in 2021’s Zack Snyder’s Justice League, the director’s cut of the 2017 crossover film.
