Thanksgiving Breaks Horror Movie Box Office Record Due To Namesake Holiday
Thanksgiving has accomplished a rare horror movie box office record in its second weekend. The movie, which was directed by Eli Roth, is adapted from the parody trailer of the same name that Roth contributed to the retro horror-themed 2007 double feature Grindhouse. It follows a murderer dressed as a Pilgrim who commits a series of revenge killings in the lead-up to Thanksgiving in Plymouth, Massachusetts, with an ensemble cast that includes Patrick Dempsey, Addison Rae, Milo Manheim, Jalen Thomas Brooks, Nell Verlaque, and Gina Gershon.
