The DCEU kicked off with 2013’s Man of Steel, and now, ten years after the film’s 2013 release, new information recontextualizes Superman’s most controversial scene in the movie. After each of Superman’s previous cinematic outings focused on a more “classic” boy-scout version of Superman, Man of Steel was a marked departure.
