Super Mario Bros. Wonder doesn’t just bring in new power-ups that make Mario and friends become elephants, but also has a new gameplay mechanic called badges that plays a major role in the game. Badges are equippable items that can be found scattered around Super Mario Bros. Wonder or are obtained through completing certain achievements. Once equipped, these badges will alter a game mechanic until the badge is replaced with something else or removed. If playing in multiplayer, one badge will affect every character simultaneously.
