Star Trek Voyager’s Pilot Takes A Q TNG Joke And Makes It Last 7 Years

Star Trek: Voyager‘s pilot episode took a Q joke from Star Trek: The Next Generation and expanded on it significantly. Voyager was the third 1990s-era Star Trek series, and the fourth show in the franchise overall, airing concurrently with Star Trek: Deep Space Nine during the late 90s and early 2000s. As with all Star Trek shows of the era, Voyager took inspiration from the rest of the franchise, and crossed over with other series at multiple points, but one of the most interesting similarities was the inspiration for its premise.
