Star Trek: Voyager Had Better Alien Villains Than The Kazon – What Happened?

The Kazon are one of Star Trek: Voyager‘s most universally hated villains, but the series almost had a better alien antagonist. As a consequence of being set in the Delta Quadrant, a completely uncharted region of space on the other side of the galaxy, Voyager had the challenge of coming up with a multitude of new alien races for the crew to encounter during episodes. Some of these species, like the Talaxians or the Hirogen, were a hit with viewers, while others fell much farther short of the mark for an interesting Star Trek alien species.
