Sonic Superstars Will Change One Classic Gameplay Element

Sonic Superstars developer Naoto Ohshima goes into detail about how the game evolves on the classic Sonic 2D gameplay, where it won’t feature one of its traditional lives or game-over mechanics. The upcoming Sonic Superstars entry has a larger focus on co-operative play, allowing four playable characters on-screen at a time. It will also feature an online versus mode, where players can duke it out in a series of platforming races or battles as customized Eggman robots. Superstars is looking to innovate on the franchise with an emphasis on these multiplayer elements.
