While Smallville was made in the early 2000s, new artwork with Superman, Lois Lane, and Lex Luthor pitches the Clark Kent-focused show if it was produced in the 1980s. Out of all the DC TV shows that have come in the last two decades, Smallville has been one of the most beloved ones and is still considered the ultimate Superman prequel series. In many ways, Smallville paved the way for the Arrowverse, which became the direct superhero follow up on The CW after the series’ conclusion in 2011.
