Afrobeats star David Adeleke, also known as Davido, has refuted reports claiming he was arrested in an East African country. The reports emerged while Davido was on tour in the region on April 1, 2024.

However, Davido clarified in a statement released via his X handle on Tuesday that he was not arrested. He emphasized that his tour in Uganda and Kenya was successful, and he has since returned to Nigeria without any legal issues.

Davido further asserted that he has never been arrested for any crime throughout his career. He vowed to take legal action against those responsible for spreading the false rumors.

In his statement which reads;

“I find the fabrication of allegations of such international crimes extremely irresponsible regardless of the light of ‘April Fools’, and my lawyer is seeking legal recourse against the media parties responsible for generating this misinformation.”
