Quentin Tarantino’s Star Trek Was "Fun, Passionate," Says Screenwriter
Quentin Tarantino’s version of Star Trek 4 had a “fun” writers’ room and the acclaimed director had “passionate ideas” according to Pet Sematary: Bloodlines writer-director Lindsey Anderson Beer. In 2017, Tarantino pitched a sequel to Star Trek Beyond to producer J.J. Abrams and Bad Robot, and Quentin assembled a writer’s room to flesh out his movie idea about Captain James T. Kirk (Chris Pine) and the USS Enterprise in a 1920s gangster time travel adventure. Tarantino’s writer’s room included Beer and The Revenant screenwriter Mark L. Smith.
