Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s Ogerpon Fills a Missing Franchise Archetype

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will feature two new Legendaries in its upcoming ‘The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero’ DLC, both of which seem to play an important role in furthering the lore surrounding the Terastal Phenomenon. The Teal Mask DLC, comprised of the player’s adventure into Kitakami, suggests that its Legendary, Ogerpon, will play a villainous role throughout its story. Though such a feature has been a staple of past Pokemon titles, this inclusion marks Scarlet and Violet‘s first foray into an evil Legendary that seems to have a direct influence on its narrative, fulfilling the role of a missing franchise archetype.
