Panic As Terrorists Abduct 55 Wedding Guests In Katsina State, Kill Three Security Men

A group of bandits, often referred to as terrorists, carried out an attack in Damari town, Sabuwa Local Government Area of Katsina State, abducting approximately 55 wedding guests who were escorting a bride home.

According to residents, the attack occurred on Thursday around 9 pm. The victims, mostly friends of the bride, were riding in an open van known as a canter vehicle.

Unfortunately, three local security volunteers lost their lives in the attempt to rescue the victims.

The source revealed that the canter vehicle was initially carrying over 70 individuals, but several managed to escape by jumping off the moving van when the bandits hijacked it.

Sabuwa local government area has been grappling with the presence of bandits and their accomplices, often acting as informants.

The Chairman of Dandume Local Government Area, Alhaji Basiru Musa, confirmed the incident, and while some unconfirmed reports suggest that a few kidnapped women managed to escape, the chairman promised to verify and provide updates.

Although the abducted women were from Dandume, the bandits intercepted them on their way from Sabuwa Local Government Area at around 9 pm.

Sabuwa and Dandume are among the local government areas heavily affected by bandit activities in Katsina State.
