The duo was behind The OC, which was the hottest show on television in the early aughts, catapulting its young cast into huge stars. The original Gossip Girl was much the same, although its reboot did not have anywhere near the same impact. It debuted to tepid reviews, with its cancellation coming after just two seasons.
