Oppenheimer’s R-Rated Success Could Change Christopher Nolan’s Movie Future
Christopher Nolan has achieved much success with Oppenheimer, and it could change the trajectory of future movies directed by the filmmaker. Oppenheimer is unlike any previous film directed by Nolan, as it’s a biopic about a real-life physicist. As such, most of its three-hour runtime consists of people talking in rooms. This marks a departure from what he’s generally known for: big-budget, high-concept, blockbuster spectacles. While Oppenheimer features the showstopping Trinity Test, the movie isn’t packed with ambitious action sequences like the Dark Knight trilogy, Inception, or Tenet. However, Oppenheimer’s biggest disruption to Nolan’s signature films is its Motion Picture Association rating.
