Oppenheimer‘s IMAX run has been extended from its original three-week window, delivering a huge blow to Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, which is currently losing the box office battle. Prior to the release of both films, it was reported that Tom Cruise was angry at Oppenheimer for taking all IMAX screens in the US for its first three weeks in theaters. This exclusivity deal between IMAX and Oppenheimer may have contributed to Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One‘s underperformance at the box office.
