Omah Lay Reveals Plans To Lead Afrobeats’ Future With His Sophomore Album

Emerging Nigerian music artist, Stanley Omah Didia, popularly known as Omah Lay, has outlined his aspirations to shape the future of Afrobeats through his distinctive sound, featured in his forthcoming second album.

In an exclusive interview with Beat FM on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, the acclaimed singer, a standout figure in the music scene in 2023, highlighted his commitment to bring about a significant transformation in the Afrobeat genre.

Omah Lay confidently asserted that the familiar sound associated with Afrobeat will change a lot in 2024 and the coming years. He shared that he’s already bringing in a fresh sound for Afrobeat, giving us a taste of it in his latest hit single, ‘Holy Ghost.’ The singer also spilled the beans that his upcoming album, set to drop this year, will have a lot of this exciting new sound, with its awesome new vibe.

In his words, Omah Lay declared:-

“I have started a new sound, I feel like Afrobeat is going to, the sound people identify as afrobeat is going to change in 2024, 2025, in the future and I am going to be one of the leaders of the new sound. I have started a new sound of Afrobeat and you’re going to hear more of that in 2024. Holy Ghost is one of them and am putting out an album and the album is going to consist of all of this new vibe.”
