NSCDC Nabs Seven Over Alleged Illegal Security Services In Anambra
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested seven individuals in Anambra State for allegedly offering illegal security services.
Deputy Commandant Francis Nnadi, Head of the Private Guards Company (PGC) Department, led the operation, highlighting that the arrests included guards falling into two categories.
Nnadi mentioned a rise in impersonation cases, with individuals posing as members of the Anambra Vigilante Group (AVG) while working as private guards.
The NSCDC has intensified efforts to apprehend those involved in such activities. The newly deployed Commandant, Mr. Olatunde Maku, pledged to streamline the operations of Private Security Companies in the state and warned against establishing such companies without following due process.
He emphasized that registration, licensing, and training of Private Guard Companies are under the purview of the NSCDC according to relevant laws.
