NAFDAC Arrests 3 Hawkers, Seizes Substandard Drugs In Kaduna

NAFDAC arrested three drug hawkers and confiscated substandard drugs worth N250,000 in Kaduna.

Mr. Nasiru Mato, the state coordinator, revealed this during an interview, emphasizing ongoing efforts to eradicate drug hawking that exposes medicines to adverse conditions.

The agency is also targeting “self-acclaimed” doctors involved in illegal practices, exemplified by a raid in Sabon Tasha, leading to the seizure of unregistered aphrodisiacs and analgesics.

Mato stressed the need to store drugs at recommended temperature and humidity for safety and efficacy.

Consumers were advised to be cautious, check for NAFDAC registration, and purchase medicines from registered outlets, as the ban on drug hawking and advertising remains in force.
