NA WA O!! Atiku Pledges To Continue Running For Presidency As Long As He Remains In Good Health

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential candidate in 2023, has vowed to continue his pursuit of the presidency as long as his health permits.

Atiku made this declaration during an interview with the Hausa service of the Voice of America in Abuja.

In response to whether he would contest again, Atiku affirmed, “Of course, I will keep contesting again and again as long as I am alive and healthy.”

“Even the former US President Abraham Lincoln contested seven times before finally winning,” he added.

Regarding the current state of the PDP, Atiku emphasized the need for strong support and collaboration with other parties to secure victory in the election.

By the next presidential election in 2027, Atiku would be 81 years old, having made six attempts to secure the presidency.

He has appeared on the ballot as a presidential candidate three times: in 2007, 2019, and 2023.

Atiku finds solace in the fact that former United States President Abraham Lincoln did not win the presidential vote on his first attempt.

Speaking on the crisis within the PDP, Atiku stressed the importance of unity within the party and forming alliances with other political groups to enhance their chances of winning in 2027.

Speculations have arisen about Atiku and other politicians planning to form a coalition with other political parties.

Atiku recently met with Peter Obi, the presidential candidate from the Labour Party, leading to assumptions about a potential collaboration.

Addressing any potential misunderstandings, Atiku assured, “This is to anybody that thinks there is going to be a misunderstanding between me and Obi, let me assure you that not even a small issue is going to happen between us.”

“Also, we are going to be behind anybody that will be chosen to represent us in the forthcoming elections,” he added.
