“My Father Died Because We Couldn’t Pay For N70,000 Hospital Bed Space” – Odumodublvck

Tochukwu Ojogwu, the Nigerian rapper widely recognized as Odumodublvck, has shared a poignant account of his earlier struggles as an artist.

He recounted a challenging period in his life when his family, grappling with financial difficulties, lost his father due to their inability to afford a hospital bed space priced at N70,000. In those trying times, the family was compelled to bring his father home, where he eventually passed away.

The ‘Declan Rice’ artist emphasized that this difficult experience is a key factor in his firm belief that no established artist paved the way for his success in the music industry. While acknowledging inspiration from fellow rappers, Odumodublvck asserted that his journey was marked by personal challenges rather than the influence of established figures in the industry.

On his X handle on Wednesday, Odumodublvck wrote:-

“When my father died my family was poor. We could not pay hospital bed space of 70k [N70,000]. We had to take him home.

“Coming to tell me about paving the way for me? That’s God, brother. No use your ego counter reason my reality, bros.
“I agree say you inspire me. But bros, you pave the way for nobody. Nobody!

“I hate when n*ggas try to play God.”

His outburst is coming days after veteran singer, Eedris Abdulkareem, claimed in a podcast interview that he paved the way for Wizkid, Burna Boy, Davido and the current generation of Nigerian artists.
