Mufasa Releasing 30 Years After The Lion King Is The Ultimate Evidence Of Where Disney Has Gone Wrong
Disney’s live-action prequel Mufasa: The Lion King will release 30 years after the beloved original, reinforcing exactly what is wrong with Disney’s currently desperate movie strategy. While specific details have not been released yet, it will supposedly focus on Mufasa’s backstory, including how his relationship with Scar evolved over time. The prequel’s new 2024 release date places it in the holiday season, which represents a departure from The Lion King’s billion-dollar summer release. Even with a potentially more profitable release date, Mufasa: The Lion King is still proof of where Disney has gone wrong over the last few years.
