Marvel & DC’s First Crossover Was a Secret Fans Didn’t Notice

Nearly every time Marvel and DC Comics have crossed over with one another it’s been a major event, but the very first crossover between the two comics titans went almost unnoticed. In three comics published in October 1972 – two tales by Marvel and one by DC – the Justice League, Thor and the Juggernaut all converge during Halloween celebrations in the town of Rutland, Vermont. Not only do the heroes all end up in the same place at the same time, but they all end up running into a group of real-life comic creators.
