Man Arrested For Beheading Girlfriend In Bayelsa
The Bayelsa State Police Command has arrested a middle-aged man for allegedly beheading his girlfriend in the early hours of Saturday in Sagbama Local Government Area.
The suspect, identified as Tony, was reportedly restrained by neighbors as he attempted to flee the crime scene and was subsequently handed over to the police.
According to Musa Mohammed, the spokesman for the Command, the suspect and the victim, Ebibraaladei Maxwell, had been living together, although they were not married.
The police have initiated an investigation, and the suspect is undergoing interrogation.
The remains of the victim have been removed and deposited at the morgue of the Federal Medical Centre in Yenagoa.
The Divisional Police Officer of Sagbama Division dispatched officers to the crime scene upon receiving the report.
