Jenna Ortega’s Scream 7 Exit Repeats The Franchise’s Neve Campbell Insult (& Makes It More Disappointing)

Scream 7 has lost its two leads as Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega have left the project, but the latter’s departure is repeating the franchise’s Neve Campbell insult. After supposedly coming to an end with Scream 4 in 2011, the Scream saga was revived thanks to the current “requel” trend and it was a big success. Scream (2022) brought back the survivors of the first four movies – Sidney Prescott, Gale Weathers, and Dewey Riley – and introduced a new generation of characters that would lead the new reboot trilogy.
