The minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike has revealed that most kidnapping incidents that occur in the federal capital are staged by individuals.
The former Rivers state governor made this statement in an interview with the media following a closed-door meeting on insecurity in the nation’s capital on Wednesday with the Senate and FCT Commissioner of Police, Benneth Igweh.
According to Wike, the FCT has seen kidnapping cases significantly reduced since the two most wanted and well-known kidnappers were apprehended.
He said:
“The majority of kidnappings are occasionally stage-managed by individuals. Certain internal arrangements exist.
“Remember, we have apprehended the two most wanted and infamous kidnappers; thus, the number of kidnappings has decreased.”
