Renowned Nigerian record producer and mixing engineer, Osabuohien Osaretin, widely recognized as Sarz, has shared insights into how the Afrobeat pioneer, Fela Kuti, has significantly impacted contemporary Afrobeats artists.

In a recent interview with ARZ, Sarz emphasized that the late music icon serves as a major source of inspiration for present-day Afrobeats luminaries like Wizkid, Burna Boy, Rema, as well as upcoming generations of musicians.

He further revealed that he incorporates samples from Fela’s musical compositions into his own beats.

He said:-

“Recently, I listened to Fela’s catalog and I just find things I can sample or flip. Even in modern Afrobeats, you can tell his influence on a lot of us, from Burna Boy to Wizkid to Rema, and to the generation even coming. I’m sure they will still be inspired by the legend.”
