I’m Surprised By The Criticism Of Ex-Players – Pep Guardiola
Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has expressed surprise at the criticism from former players on current players.
The two-time treble winning coach said he is not surprised when such criticisms come from journalists but wondered why former players should be in the fore-front of criticism.
He made the comment while reacting to a recent criticism directed at Haaland, who scored 36 goals in the Premier League last season, by former Manchester United captain, Roy Keane.
Keane criticised the Norwegian forward following the striker’s little impact in City’s 0-0 draw with Arsenal on Sunday, saying the Harland’s general play was substandard.
He said:
“I’m surprised when it comes from former players,”
“Journalists I understand but former players, I’m surprised.
“It’s like former referees criticising referees… memory disappears quick”.
