Today, Stephen King is one of the most well-known and heavily adapted novelists of all time, with well over 300 screen credits for movies and shows based on his work. The author’s career with film and TV adaptations began with his very first novel, although it almost didn’t happen because King initially hated Carrie‘s story so much that he threw the book in the trash.
