GOOD NEWS!!!! Police Parade Suspect Involved In Killing Of Ekiti Traditional Rulers

The Ekiti State Police Command has presented Alhaji Baboga, alleged to be involved in the murder of two traditional rulers in the Ikole axis of Ekiti on Monday, January 29, 2024.

Speaking to journalists in Ado-Ekiti on Sunday, Assistant Inspector General of Police, Dare Ogundare, noted that the collective efforts of security agencies led to the arrest of the suspect in the forest between Ayedun and Ayebode.

AIG. Ogundare stated that the suspect confessed to the crime, with ongoing efforts to apprehend his accomplices.

While no arrests were made during the rescue operation for the abducted school pupils and their teachers, other suspects were apprehended at Oke Osun in Ikere Ekiti, Igbo Okah, and Iju-Ikere boundary forest.

Ogundare addressed concerns about ransom payment for the release of the Emure abductees, stating that the Nigeria Police do not endorse such payments.

He commended the Inspector General of Police and the Ekiti State governor for their prompt intervention in securing the release of the school pupils and teachers.

ALHAJI Baboga, when questioned by reporters, confirmed his involvement in the killing of the Ikole traditional rulers.
