Gladiator 2 Returning Character Makes The Sequel’s Russell Crowe Problem Even Worse

One character set to return in Ridley Scott’s upcoming Gladiator 2 makes the film’s Russel Crowe problem worse. The highly-anticipated action sequel is scheduled to release in November 2024 and is expected to not feature the original 2000 film’s main protagonist Maximus (Russell Crowe). Crowe himself has denied rumors that he would appear in some capacity in Gladiator 2, indicating that there is virtually zero chance that Maximus could reappear in some type of afterlife scene after his tragic death at the end of the first film.
