Geordi Is Star Trek’s Most Important Commodore & Not Just Because Of Enterprise-D

Star Trek: Picard‘s Commodore Geordi La Forge (LeVar Burton) is the most important character to hold the position, and not just because of his restoration of the USS Enterprise-D. Picard season 3 reunited the cast of Star Trek: The Next Generation for one final adventure, updating fans on what the characters had been doing for the past 20 years. Some characters like Dr. Beverly Crusher (Gates McFadden) had turned their back on Starfleet, while Captain Worf (Michael Dorn) was a freelance contractor for Starfleet Intelligence. Geordi was one of the few TNG characters that had stayed within Starfleet since the ending of Star Trek: Nemesis, and had worked his way up to the position of Commodore.
