The Frasier reboot pilot’s scrapped Martin funeral sounds good for an opener, but it would have destroyed the chances of the revival being successful. Inspired by John Mahoney’s death in 2018, the Paramount+ show kicks off on the heels of the Crane patriarch’s demise. By the time Frasier arrived in Boston, he had already attended his father’s funeral, with the series only sharing bits and pieces of information on how it went. Had things gone differently, however, the Frasier reboot would have spent so much more time tackling the plot.
