Co-executive producer Chris Harris explains Niles’ replacement character in the Frasier reboot, Alan, including how he is different from the younger Crane brother. Once it was made clear that David Hyde Pierce wouldn’t be joining the Frasier reboot cast, Kelsey Grammer and his team had to find a way to pivot away from Seattle, hence the revival’s Boston setting.
