Dune 3 Must End The Franchise (Despite All The Other Books)

Dune 3 will round out Warner Bros. Pictures’ movie adaptations of Frank Herbert’s first two Dune books, and despite all the other novels in his series, this is the right way to end the franchise. Denis Villeneuve is turning the first two books, Dune and Dune Messiah, into a movie trilogy. Dune: Part One debuted back in 2021, and Dune: Part Two is set to release in fall 2023. Villeneuve is not the first person to bring Herbert’s story to the screen. Dune was initially adapted in 1984 by David Lynch, but the film was poorly received. Villeneuve’s series finally gives Herbert’s story the chance at a proper adaptation.
