Classic ‘90s Animated Show Sequel Plans & Concept Art Revealed By Creator
The classic animated series Doug gets a sequel update from creator Jim Jenkins, who also reveals potential concept art in a new video. Debuting in 1991 and ending in 1999, Doug encompassed the entire decade. It follows the titular character, Douglas “Doug” Funnie (originally voiced by Billy West), as he attends school in his new hometown of Bluffington. The show also explored Dog’s crush on Patti Mayonnaise (Constance Shulman) and dealt with coming-of-age concerns like bullying and self-doubt. It was a defining show for Nickelodeon, with a movie, a video game, and a stage adaptation.
