Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer Servers Taken Offline

Multiplayer servers for the original Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 have been temporarily taken offline, following reports of a malicious malware spreading through the game. While Call of Duty recently welcomed a new release with the same name, the original fast-paced military shooter took the world by storm back in 2009. The game helped to solidify the franchise as one of the FPS genre’s most ubiquitous series and still sees active players more than a decade after its debut. Now, however, servers are going offline to combat a major issue with the game.
