AMVCA 2024: Reactions As Funke Akindele’s ‘A Tribe Called Judah’ Misses Out
Netizens have reacted to the 2024 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards, AMVCA as actress, Funke Akindele’s milestone movie, ‘A Tribe Called Judah’ misses out.
Recall that the 10th edition of the AMVCA which was held at the Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos, on Saturday, May 11.
The shocking aspect of the occasion was Funke Akindele’s billion Naira film, “A Tribe Called Judah,” which lost out all categories nominated for.
However, the movie ‘A Breath Of life’, won six awards, including Best Movie, Best Sound Design, Best Director (BB Sasore), Best Lead Actor (Wale Ojo), Best Supporting Actor (Ademola Adedoyin), Best Supporting Actress (Genoveva Umeh), and Trailblazer (Chimezie Imo), emerging the night’s biggest winner.
Funke Akindele’s movie “A Tribe Called Judah” was the first Nigerian film to make over N1 billion at the box office in December 2023, shockingly lost out on all nominations.
