All 5 Expendables Characters Inspired By Real-Life People

While the franchise is pure fiction, even to the point of ludicrous levels at times, several characters in The Expendables are named after real-life figures. The first installment of the series blasted onto cinema screens in 2010 as a throwback to ’80s and ’90s action movies with a who’s who of legends of the genre making up its ensemble. The original stars included such action stars as Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, and Dolph Lundgren. The Expendables 2 and The Expendables 3 followed with even bigger ensemble casts in 2012 and 2014, with Expend4bles set to send the team on a new mission in 2023.
