Aliko Dangote is a Nigerian billionaire businessman, the founder and chairman of Dangote Group, an industrial conglomerate in Africa.
Mr. Dangote has an estimated net worth of US$8.3 billion, making him the 162nd wealthiest person in the world and the richest person in Africa. What many of do not know is the beginning of his riches.
According to sources close to him, Mr Dangote has always been interested in business even as a kid. It is believed that as a young boy, he used to buy boxes of candy and resell them for profit.
It is said that Mr. Dangote got a loan of $3,000 which is 1.14 million now, from his uncle. He then ventured into import and selling of agriculture goods, a business that became very successful. He was able to repay the $3,000 loan to his uncle within 3 months. He also purchased sugar from Brazil, and rice from Thailand to sell in small quantities at a very profitable margin.
