Actress Kate Henshaw Slams Tinubu Govt Over Return To Old National Anthem

Veteran Nollywood actress Kate Henshaw has stirred reactions online while reacting to the government’s order to revert to the old National Anthem.

It would be recalled that on Wednesday , May 29, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had officially signed the old anthem into law, making the new one irrelevant.

The move has since sparked mixed reactions amongst Nigerians who question the move despite the current economic situation in the country.

Reacting via her X platform, Kate Henshaw slammed the government for thinking about the old anthem at a time of ‘excoriating hardship ‘ and lack of good governance.

The seasoned actress condemn the fact that the anthem was made during the colonial reign in the country, saying they are trying to force patriotism on every citizen.

She wrote:

“In the midst of excoriating hardship & lack of good governance on every level but not to worry going back to a colonial anthem will be a soothing balm and inject patriotism back into our veins, a much needed drug.

The labours of our heroes past …o ti lo.”
